1. Overview
PP PDF is an Android PDF viewer and document utility developed by P1ETERP4N DIGITAL PTY LTD.
PP PDF is designed to process your documents locally on your device wherever possible. You do not need to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or payment card details to use the main document features of the app.
Depending on the version of PP PDF you use, features may include PDF viewing, document management, search, favourites, recent-document history, merging, splitting, compression, image-to-PDF conversion, OCR, signing, annotation and editing tools, sharing, saving output files, PP PDF+ features, advertising, analytics, diagnostics, remote application configuration, and Google Play purchases.
2. Information We Collect Directly
PP PDF does not directly require you to provide personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, physical address, account credentials, or payment card details in order to use the application's main PDF features.
PP PDF does not currently require a PieterPan Digital user account, sign-in, public profile, social profile, or chat account.
If you contact PieterPan Digital by email, we receive the information you choose to include in that communication.
3. Your PDF Files and Documents
PP PDF allows you to select PDF files, images, signatures, and other supported document content from your device so that the app can perform actions you request.
Document processing is designed to happen locally on your device wherever possible.
PP PDF does not intentionally upload the contents of your PDF documents, document text, OCR results, filenames, file paths, images, or handwritten signatures to PieterPan Digital servers for document processing.
PP PDF may create temporary or persistent app-private copies of files when required to safely open files supplied by Android document providers, render documents, create thumbnails, perform document operations, or preserve access to a document.
Files opened from external storage remain your files. Opening a file in PP PDF or removing its reference from the PP PDF library does not intentionally delete the original external file.
When you choose to share, export, save, or open a document in another application, the file is provided to the destination or application you select.
4. Local App Data
PP PDF may store information locally on your device so that the app works correctly and can remember your preferences.
This information may include:
- document-library records;
- recent-document history;
- favourites;
- reading position and page history;
- application settings;
- theme and accessibility preferences;
- advertising privacy choices;
- PP PDF+ or purchase entitlement information;
- saved signatures;
- temporary working files;
- cached document information; and
- basic tool preferences.
Local information normally remains on your device until it is removed through PP PDF, Android application settings, or by uninstalling the app.
Files that you export or save outside PP PDF remain at the destination you selected until you remove them yourself.
5. OCR, Signatures, and Document Editing
If you use OCR or text-recognition features, PP PDF analyzes the selected document or image to detect text. OCR processing is designed to occur locally on your device.
PieterPan Digital does not intentionally collect or store the detected OCR text on its own servers.
If you use signing, annotation, stamping, or editing features, the information you create is used to perform the document operation you requested.
Saved signatures may be stored locally on your device if you choose to keep them for future use.
PP PDF does not verify your identity or guarantee the legal validity or enforceability of a signature or edited document.
6. Advertising
Free versions of PP PDF may display advertising.
Current versions of PP PDF use Unity LevelPlay for advertising mediation and Unity advertising services for supported advertising inventory.
Advertising services may process information required to request, deliver, measure, secure, and improve advertisements.
Depending on your privacy choices, device settings, region, and the advertising configuration in use, this may include:
- advertising or device identifiers;
- IP address;
- approximate location derived from network information;
- device manufacturer and model;
- operating system and app version information;
- advertising impressions and interactions;
- advertising performance and measurement information;
- diagnostic information;
- fraud-prevention and security signals; and
- limited application activity relevant to advertising and advertising measurement.
Advertising information may be used for purposes including ad delivery, contextual or personalized advertising where permitted, frequency management, advertising measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, security, regulatory compliance, and improving advertising services.
PP PDF does not intentionally provide the contents of your PDF documents, document filenames, OCR text, document file paths, or signatures to advertising providers for advertising purposes.
7. Advertising Privacy Choices
PP PDF includes an Advertising preferences section that allows you to manage supported advertising privacy choices.
Depending on the app version and applicable configuration, these choices may include:
- whether advertising-related device access is permitted;
- whether personalized advertising is permitted;
- a do-not-sell or do-not-share preference; and
- a child-directed restriction.
PP PDF stores these choices locally on your device.
PP PDF is designed not to initialize its advertising system when the required advertising privacy decision has not been established or when advertising-related device access has not been permitted.
If the child-directed restriction is selected, PP PDF disables advertising.
You can review or change these choices from: PP PDF > Settings > Advertising preferences.
Changing advertising privacy settings may require restarting PP PDF before advertising can resume under a new permission state.
8. Personalized and Contextual Advertising
If you permit personalized advertising and applicable law, device settings, and advertising-provider rules allow it, advertising providers may use permitted information to select advertisements that may be more relevant to you.
If personalized advertising is not permitted but advertising access is otherwise allowed, PP PDF may request contextual or non-personalized advertising where supported.
Advertising availability may vary by country, privacy choice, advertising demand, network availability, and provider configuration.
9. Firebase Analytics
PP PDF may use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand general application usage and improve features.
Where analytics collection is enabled, Firebase may process information such as application interactions, app-instance or installation identifiers, application information, device information, and related analytics events.
PP PDF provides a setting that allows you to control optional application analytics collection.
PieterPan Digital does not intentionally attach PDF contents, document filenames, document file paths, OCR results, or signatures to Firebase Analytics events.
10. Firebase Crashlytics and Diagnostics
PP PDF uses Firebase Crashlytics to help PieterPan Digital identify crashes, errors, and application stability problems.
Crashlytics may process diagnostic information including crash stack traces, relevant application state, device information, operating system information, application version information, and installation identifiers.
Related Firebase services may also provide installation and session identifiers required for diagnostics and stability monitoring.
PP PDF is designed not to intentionally attach document contents, filenames, file paths, OCR text, or signatures to crash reports.
11. Firebase Remote Config
PP PDF uses Firebase Remote Config to safely control selected application settings, feature behaviour, and operational safety switches.
Remote Config may process technical information required to provide the service, such as application identifiers, package information, platform information, operating system information, language, time zone, and country-related information.
PP PDF does not intentionally send the contents of your documents to Firebase Remote Config.
12. Purchases and PP PDF+
PP PDF may offer paid functionality through Google Play Billing, including PP PDF+ products or previously available purchase entitlements.
Google Play processes payments. PieterPan Digital does not directly receive or store your payment card or bank-account details.
PP PDF may process product identifiers, purchase status, subscription status, entitlement information, and related purchase information required to provide or restore paid features.
Google handles payment information according to Google's own privacy policies and terms.
13. Data Sharing
PieterPan Digital does not sell your personal information for money.
Limited information may be processed by service providers required to operate PP PDF, including:
- Unity and participating advertising services for advertising, measurement, security, fraud prevention, and diagnostics;
- Google and Firebase for analytics, diagnostics, remote configuration, and related application infrastructure; and
- Google Play for application distribution, purchases, subscriptions, and entitlement processing.
Advertising-related information may also be processed by advertising partners participating through the configured advertising platform, subject to your privacy choices, applicable law, and those providers' policies.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect users, PieterPan Digital, PP PDF, or others from fraud, abuse, security threats, or unlawful activity.
14. Permissions and Device Access
PP PDF is designed to request only the Android permissions and system capabilities required for its features and integrated services.
PP PDF uses Android's document-picker and document-provider systems so that you can select files without granting the app unrestricted access to all files on your device.
The current PP PDF application does not require broad Android storage permissions for its normal document workflow.
PP PDF does not require access to your contacts, SMS messages, phone call logs, microphone, or precise GPS location for its normal PDF features.
Advertising components may use the Android Advertising ID or related device identifiers when available and permitted by Android, your device settings, applicable law, and your advertising privacy choices.
15. Children's Privacy
PP PDF is a general-audience productivity application and is not specifically designed or marketed as an application for children.
PP PDF does not provide user accounts, public profiles, social messaging, or public user-generated content.
PP PDF includes an advertising privacy option for a child-directed restriction. When that restriction applies, advertising is disabled in PP PDF.

16. Data Retention and Deletion
Information stored locally by PP PDF may remain on your device until it is removed through the app, cleared through Android application settings, or the app is uninstalled.
Exported documents remain at the location where you chose to save them until you remove them yourself.
PP PDF does not currently maintain a PieterPan Digital user-account database for the application.
Information processed by Unity, Google, Firebase, Google Play, or other service providers is retained according to their applicable policies and service requirements.

Where a request concerns information controlled directly by a third-party service provider, you may need to use that provider's privacy or data-request process.
17. Security and International Processing
PieterPan Digital takes reasonable steps to reduce unnecessary data collection and to protect PP PDF's operation and user information.
Network services such as Unity, Google, and Firebase may process information on systems located outside South Africa or outside the country in which you use PP PDF.
Their processing is subject to their respective privacy, security, contractual, and legal safeguards.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
18. Previous Advertising Versions
Previous versions of PP PDF may have used or included Google AdMob or the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
PP PDF is transitioning away from direct AdMob advertising. Current versions covered by the new advertising implementation use Unity LevelPlay and Unity advertising services instead.
Users who remain on an older version of PP PDF may continue to use software components and advertising services associated with that older version until the application is updated.
19. Changes to This Privacy Policy
PieterPan Digital may update this Privacy Policy when PP PDF's functionality, service providers, legal requirements, or data practices change.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
